Where Are Our @#%# Youtube Views!!!

Ok, so here is my most major frustration of all time (for now anyway. lol). I seriously take a TON of time and effort in the creation of my Youtube videos (shameless plug: which can be found at http://www.facelessentertainers.com/ or www.youtube.com/stivaro). Seriously, it is nothing for one of my 3-4 minute Youtube posts to take at least 200 hours from idea to publishing online (more-than-likely at least 3 times that actually). I put together all of the music myself on the computer, I write the lyrics from my own beautiful mind, film usually about an hour to two hours of video and then edit it myself on my computer and cut it all down to a 3-4 minute video. On top of that, the music and soundtrack is recorded separately, so there are hours spent ensuring that the video is timed as perfectly as possible to the video so that it doesn't end up looking like an old martial arts foreign film. lol Lots of work right? It is. What's my problem? My problem is that I seriously spend even more hours than I do producing on promoting the videos and only to end up with a couple hundred unique views. "But that's a couple of hundred people. You should be proud!" Right, I should right? I'm not. Why, you may ask? I'll tell you why. Because there are a ton of videos out there that seriously SUCK and have thousands of views. There are 12-13 yr/old kids out there with 50,000 views of them talking about how they farted in class today or it's a brief clip of them giggling at themselves doing stuff that was obviously only funny to them at the time and probably because they were high on Sprite and chocolate. WTF!? Seriously! Don't get me wrong, it's wonderful people support them in their fun times. Heck, I obviously have stumbled upon their youtube pablum albeit regrettably.  Setting all that aside for a moment - I have also done extensive research (seriously, days!) on how to get youtube views and each and every single article, video, whatever I have come across on "how to increase or maximize youtube views" involves networking and paid ads. Ok. Fine. Sure. First of all, I have networked the crap out of my content, even to the point of creating a multiple youtubes, an actual website, two blogs, a twitter, a Facebook fanpage, a Facebook group and a Facebook band group, a soundclick.com account and band page and last but not least, I've purchased business cards and posted them across the countryside....what have I got in return? Less than 4,000 views for over 15 original youtube videos!!!!!!!!!!!! So, are you telling me that these kids that have all of these youtube views or all those really crappy videos  (seriously, some of them with like a hundred thousand+ views are minutes stolen from your life!) actually paid for advertising?! I think not people! So, I ask you, what does a fella have to do to get some damn youtube views?! Seriously! I am really asking. And if you're going to respond with, "You really just need to crack down and pay for some advertising," then save your breath and shutty. lol Because that's BS. Would that work? Yeah, probably, but I don't have the funds at this time and it frankly shouldn't be necessary. It is a proven fact that you can get more views without doing so. Don't believe me? I give you this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJ04bLy-NYc (I know, I know, by posting them here, they'll get even more views but that's besides the point. lol) And please note, these little ladies have PAID FRICKEN ADS ON THEIR VIDEO! Which, btw, you cannot have unless you have at least 10,000 views of your youtube channel/video!!! The producer of this video, btw, has a total of 2,279,572 views of her youtube channel and 15 uploaded videos. You're probably thinking, "Well, she probably has some pretty sweet other videos." Nope. They're all pretty much her and her friends, lip-syncing or goofing around. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for them and I'm not singling them out. I'm just making a point. They obviously have something figured out that I don't. I just wish I knew what that was. So, anyway, I doubt I'll ever figure it out. I'll probably continue to be jealous of crappy videos getting major views or my day job will eventually pay me enough to support my hobby so that I can pay for ads. lol But in the meantime, allow me to vent here and for the love of God, if you get the chance, please check out my videos on youtube and leave a comment. I don't care if you hate them. If you do, then please leave a comment saying so. Seriously. I'm so desperate, hatemail would make me feel special. lol In case you didn't catch my shameless plug in my parenthetical insertation earlier, here's my link to my youtube: http:///www.youtube.com/stivaro or http://www.youtube.com/facelessentertainers or if you wish to view our website and find out more about what we're doing, you can go to http://www.facelessentertainers.com/.
